When Blooming Smiles’ orthodontists put braces on your teeth, they mentioned how important it is to avoid eating certain foods that can damage or break your appliances like sticky and hard foods. Now that summer is over, we would like to share these braces-friendly fall recipes with you that are all easy to make and yummy to eat.
This delicious fall bread is super moist because it’s made with applesauce, making it perfect to eat with braces!

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9x5 loaf pan. Make the topping first by mixing the sugar and cinnamon together, then set it aside. In a large bowl, combine the butter, sugar, applesauce, apple cider, and eggs and stir. Then add the flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon. Mix well. Pour the bread mixture into the pan then sprinkle the topping mixture over the top. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Fall is mango season in California, so it’s only fitting that we’d include a delicious mango recipe! This smoothie is a soothing drink that can be enjoyed anytime! Just be sure to freeze your chunks of fresh mango ahead of time so the smoothie turns out icy cold!

Place all the ingredients in a blender and run on high until smooth. Pour into tall glass and enjoy!
This is a wonderful pasta dish that the whole family will love so be sure to make plenty!

Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in skillet. Add garlic and brown. Then add the mushrooms, basil and salt & pepper. Cook until the mushrooms are just tender. Add the rest of the butter and the olive oil and stir. Mix in the pasta, then top with Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately and enjoy!
This soup is perfect to toss together when you don’t have lots of time to spend cooking.

Heat the olive oil in large pot and add onion. Let brown. Then add the garlic, carrots, celery, bay leaves and broth. Add the chicken and simmer for about 30 minutes. Then add the rice and simmer a little longer so the soup is hot. Add the spinach just before you plan on eating so it doesn’t go brown. Serve with warm, soft bread and dig in!
